CENTER OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH & INSTITUTIONAL INNOVATION

The Center of Institutional Research & institutional Innovation is African Methodist Episcopal University’s source of information sharing. The image of the University will be enhanced locally, nationally, and globally through its flow of accurate statistical information, levels of management that define institutional issues and trends, etc. and its implementation of research designs specified for these purposes.

The Center provides reliable data, policy review/analysis, University-wide organizational reviews, strategic management tools to aid in decision making at AMEU, and assists faculty with tools and techniques of research.  It is an integral part of the Division of Academic Support Services. The objectives of the Center are

To formulate and document well-grounded fundamental investigation/survey which may be self-initiated;

To participate in various University and government initiated studies/projects that will affect the University and its constituents;
To respond to various internal/external surveys, publications and institutional based studies;

To develop database on the geographic origins of students, new students, attrition, retention, and graduation rate, enrollment trends, and other relevant areas of student matriculation;

To collect data for academic planning and analyze its major areas such as class size for departments, colleges, and total university student faculty ratios and average student credit hours per (FTE) and faculty by department and level of class; faculty workload, instructional costs by level of class for departments, colleges, and total university; and faculty characteristics to be used in academic program review;

To provide data for effective decisions.
